Kids and Youtube
You tube is a video sharing site that allow people to upload and shares original videos. It became one of the popular site after Facebook. We even share those interesting video to our friends through Facebook. We see the latest silly video that everyone talking about. It almost become our daily "must do task" after Facebook. You tube is getting to replace the mainstream media because of people today are tending to face more computer/Internet than the TV and a lot of the relevant agencies were concerned on this channel.
Furthermore, we knew that kids today are very familiar with the Internet. For an example, I have a nephew who had an Facebook account even though he is only 7 years old and the main purpose for him is just to play game. Other than that, he told me that one of the reason he wants a Facebook account is just because most of his friend having it and this made him desired to have it too. From here we can see the kids now is totally different from how we entertain our self when we are kids. There are a high percentage for a kids to receive something that might not appropriate to their age. How does it possible?

To keep your JOB as a Parent and your kid's Safety on the internet
Technology today offers many opportunities and it has become a big part of everybody's daily life. At the end of 2011 it is already very clear that the netizen (citizens of the internet) are already having aspects of life revolving to the internet from friendly relationships, entertainment, shopping, school, information, jobs and many others.
While this is going on, it is penetrated some families in this modern era as kids today are becoming the "experts" while some parents are left behind only to see all the evolutions that take place in this unknown field.
Children are usually one step ahead of their parents with regards to technology and that is what parents should be hoping for in the first place. Browse the internet together and see how your child behaves in the digital world. See which pages they visit and observe how they react. As much as parents care for and learns about their children's friends, their habits and places where they hang out in real life, they must observe with the same perseverance and patients in their "digital" life.
Any strict advice or will not work. If you remember, it did not even work for most of you. It is essential for parents to remember, that children consider themselves experts of internet and technology in general. "DON’T" and "SHOULD NOT" should be replaced with "HOW" and "WHY" in order to open a dialogue between children and parents.
Parents cannot stand by their children all day long hence they cannot protect them from any possible danger forever. However, their role is to teach them how to handle any dangerous situation they might face and how to avoid any unforeseen obstacles. Then again, if children do not succeed, they always have a relationship of safety and trust with their parents that acts as a personal bodyguard.
Knowledge and experience are the key elements that will help parents to handle and prevent any problems that occur in their children’s lives. When experiencing these feelings, sometimes parents act with impulsion and under the rationale of prohibition. However, this prohibition of using technology automatically puts children out of reality and thus it cannot be easily accepted by them.
How are we in real life, you can always do it the same way online. You can always find better solutions, but it depends on how you can conform with the society and how much you know your own child. Take this into considerations for kids are our future.
